Meet Cecilia Ma
“I am profoundly inspired by my clients and feel immensely privileged to be entrusted to hold space and be a compassionate witness and sojourner in their lives.
I believe it is their courage, authenticity and vulnerability which opens up a new aliveness and vitality in their lives and it is an honor to share in this process with them.”
— Cecilia Ma

Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Cecilia brings curiosity, attunement, respect and humility in her engagement with clients; understanding the complexity and intersection between mental health, relationships and trauma. She is a qualified and experienced mental health therapist offering a personalised approach in her work, appreciating each person is unique and does not fit into any 'neat' diagnosed criteria.
Cecilia tailors her approach according to the needs of each client. She is also a trained trauma-informed, EMDR and integrative holistic person-centred therapist.
She is passionate about helping you discover your innate and external resilience and strengths and overcome barriers to be able to live a life that you get to define is most important to you.
Her fundamental belief about what makes therapy most effective and helpful is the person of the therapist and the ability to provide a safe therapeutic relationship.
She is also committed and engages in ongoing professional supervision and training to ensure she maintains and provides ethical and current clinical knowledge and practice.
Cecilia believes that every person would benefit from engaging in therapy as a process that can profoundly enrich and enhance a person’s life and most relationships and not only when they are in a crisis or have significant challenges.
What Cecilia’s About
Cecilia is the owner and Director of the Resilience and Psychotherapy Clinic.
When not working, you will find her in a dance class, and she has even taken the brave leap and appeared in a number of dance showcases and dance video projects, too! Some would call her love for dance a mild obsession and possibly an addiction; she refers to it as a serious hobby to keep her sane!
She grew up in Sydney and is a proud coffee snob and foodie. You will also find her absorbed in an inspirational Kindle book or catching up with close friends and family, eating something delicious.
Prior to re-training as a therapist, she had worked over 10 years as a Public Relations/Communications consultant in various workplace settings, including consultancy, local government, non-government and education.
